Design and manufacture of moulds

With the aim of creating unique and tailor-made solutions, all the projects realized by Sampaolo Stampi are the result of in-depth meetings and consultations between the staff of the company’s technical office and the client.

Mold design

Based on the requests and requirements of the customer, a careful feasibility analysis is carried out with the aim of overcoming any critical issues that may arise in the development of the project.

With the help of the Fusion360 software it is possible to carry out simulations of the functioning of the mold, with related optimizations of the injection positions including a prediction of shrinkage and deformations of the molded piece.

The mold design is carried out using cutting-edge three-dimensional CAD-CAM modeling systems (Think Design, Open Mind and hyperMILL). The accuracy in project development, achieved thanks to these systems, allows us to create molds with maximum precision and functionality.

Construction of molds

The internal workshop dedicated to the construction of molds employs highly specialized staff and uses technological high-speed numerically controlled (CNC) machining centers such as 3 and 5 axis continuous milling machines, wire and die-sinking electrical discharge machining, as well as lathes. , drills and grinding.
To satisfy the client's broadest requests, Sampaolo Stampi is able to create molds with different technologies:

Molds for injected mono, bi and tri-material components
Multi-cavity integral injection molds
Molds for thin-walled parts
Molds for items with unscrewing thread

Before building the final mold, on customer request, it is possible to make pilot molds. This solution allows you to verify compliance and full achievement of product requirements or implement all the necessary improvements in case you encounter unforeseeable problems with the design tools.
